3D Deconvolution

Greater brilliance and precise resolution, more convenient than ever before

The challenge in fluorescence microscopy: Light from the areas above and below the focal plane blurs the image and obscures structures. In extreme cases, you cannot recognize any structures at all.

The solution: The AxioVision module 3D Deconvolution.
A procedure that mathematically reverses (deconvolves) the optical distortions that take place when an image is generated through an optical microscope.
3D Deconvolution essentially calculates blur back to its point of origin, allowing you to produce fluorescence images in exceptional quality. The point spread function of the optical system is used as a basis for this calculation, with AxioVision you can choose between a measured or theoretic point spread function. The result is a high-quality image with substantially less blur that has low noise, better definition and higher resolution in 3D.

Visualization in new dimensions

Thanks to the AxioVision Inside 4D module producing animated 3-dimensional objects from the image stacks of your specimens has never been so simple.

Observe cells and tissue sections in three dimensions and over time: Inside4D creates precisely scaled 3-dimensional views from a stack of 2-dimensional images (image volume). This procedure is called rendering. Watch your image data leave the "flat" world of two dimensions. Changes over time are combined with the three-dimensional display as a fourth dimension allowing you to render 3D processes over time.
