I use microscopy in an analytical lab to photograph cross-sections of wooden substrates to measure thicknesses of thin coatings. I use a Zeiss OptiPlan stereomicroscope equipped with Zeiss EpiPlan lenses and an 8.4 MP digital camera. This microscope allows the best resolution possible and allows a wide variety of imaging options. | | A 160x magnification of a wooden substrate (a door frame) cross-section coated with a thin film.
