| New Firmware 1.08 for Camera-Eyepiece DC4 |

The following technical optimizations are implemented with firmware version 1.08:
- Improved exposure correction if the camera parameters are selected manually, exposure control and color balance
- Optimization of internal process steps.
Instructions for the Update
1. Prepare SD-card
Format the memory card of your DC4 camera eyepiece.
Select MENUE > SETTINGS > FORMATTING press then the OK button and use the right/left arrow keys to select YES. Confirm with the OK button.
2. Prepare Camera-Eyepiece DC4
Select the option RESTORE. Select MENUE > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > FACTORY SETTINGS press then the OK button and use the right/left arrow keys to select YES. Confirm with the OK button.
Note: Performance of steps 1 and 2 is described in detail in the user instructions for the DC4.
3. Download the update file to the SD card with a card reader
Switch off the camera eyepiece and insert the card into an SD card reader connected to your computer. A card reader is required for firmware updates.

| Important note: Save the file directly at the top level of your SD-card and not in the DCIM directory. Please don’t change the file name. Now there should be 1 file on the SD-card.
Please check again in the Windows Explorer whether the SD-card folder has the following contents:

| 4. Transfer the update file to the Camera-Eyepiece DC4
Remove the card from your card reader as required and insert the card into the DC4 camera eyepiece.
Important note: Before you switch on the DC4, you must make sure that a fully charged original battery pack is contained in the instrument.
If in doubt, please recharge the battery pack first. Please make sure again that the SD card has been properly inserted into the card slot.
Now turn on the DC4.
5. Update the DC4 firmware
Select MENUE > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > FIRMWAREUPDATE
Press the OK button.
In the UPDATE FIRMWARE menu, use the right/left arrow keys to select YES. Confirm with OK.
The firmware update has thus been started. The note UPDATING FIRMWARE…. PLEASE WAIT is shown in the display. This process takes approx. 1-2 minutes.
Important note: Please do not press any keys on the instrument or the remote control while the process is running.
The message UPDATING FIRMWARE SUCCESSFUL PRESS OK is displayed. Now please press the OK button. Please note: Before you restart the DC4 the old firmware version will be displayed.
6. Finish
Pressing the EXIT button three times brings you back to the normal operating mode.
Now please switch the camera off and on again in order to load all new settings.
Finally, you should format the SD card to delete the update file.
Important note: If the battery pack is not charged sufficiently and the firmware update can therefore not be finished, a serious error will occur, which must be eliminated by Carl Zeiss Customer Service.
