CFi/CFE-Lenses - the worldwide benchmark
The Zeiss CFi/CFE-Lenses for Hasselblad 500 series cameras are the worldwide benchmark for image quality in medium format optics. The performance of these lenses utilizes the potential of today's best color films to the fullest or even surpasses it.

Carl Zeiss manufactures these lenses with tolerances so narrow that uniform image quality is assured from unit to unit. These lenses are designed and made for a service life counting in decades. Each of these lenses is equipped with a Prontor CFi central shutter, the only all-metal central shutter in the world offering shutter speeds and flash-synchronization from 1 s to 1/500 s. With these lenses Hasselblad cameras can operate fully independantly from batteries.

These lenses can also be used with 200 series Hasselblad cameras, either with the lens' central shutter (this is what the "C" stands for) or the camera body's focal plane shutter (this is what the "F" stands for). CFE lenses come with additional components for 200 series Hasselblad TTL light metering and auto-exposure (this is what the "E" stands for).
