ArriCam launched at Cinec 2000
Cinec 2000 in Munich saw the premiere of the ArriCam, a totally new camera system to revolutionize 35 mm film production.
Part of the system is the Arri LDS lens data system, a completely new development. Via an electrical interface in the PL mount, contact-free sensors in the lens transmit the set values of focus, zoom, and iris to the camera. The LDS system, using the lens’ iris and focus distance readings, calculates the depth of field and presents the data graphically on a separate display. Focus and other marks can be set and hit with utmost precision.
LDS lenses presented with the ArriCam are based on Carl Zeiss ULTRA PRIME and VARIABLE PRIME lenses for Arnold & Richter (ARRI). | |
