Carl Zeiss Telephoto Power Pack—first user comments

So far, few photographers have had the opportunity to take pictures with the Tele-Superachromat T* 2,8/300 and the TPP just before and after Photokina.

Here is what they have to say:

”I’ve used all the 2,8/300s available on the world market. And I’ve found they are all pretty low in contrast. So I brought my Hasselblad 203 F and Fujichrome Velvia, a film which compensates for the contrast losses in usual telephoto lenses and zooms pretty well. With the Tele-Superachromat T* 2,8/300 I took photos of animals. They came out surprisingly contrasty. Obviously there is not the loss of contrast with the Tele-Superachromat T* 2,8/300 that I expected from my experience with other brand fast tele-photo lenses. The brilliance of this lens is unbelievable. Great optics! I want one!” So says Guido Puttkammer, a photog-rapher who takes a wide range of subjects from animals to products to zoom lenses and uses camera systems spanning the gamut from 35 mm to 8 x 10.

Carl Zeiss inhouse photographers Uwe Furtwängler, Otto Hahnemann, and Kornelius J. Fleischer find: ”The TPP in the 4.5/500 combination is a great long tele photo, setting new standards in perfor-mance! And it is remarkably compact. The brilliant image on the ground glass proves immediately, that this is a superior optic. Focusing is so quick and accurate. The resulution achieved in the photos is superior. And there are no color fringes!”
