The entry submitted by Ryan Cheng from Hong Kong took fourth place. Cheng is a keen panoramic and landscape photographer. Capturing this impressive scene required him to take 23 individual pictures using the Makro-Planar T* 2/100 ZF, and the wealth of details he achieved is truly extraordinary. 26-year-old Cheng was drawn to the world of photography three years ago. He was fascinated by the idea of seeing the world through different eyes, and he was especially attracted by the challenge of continuously developing his skills.
He was inspired to take part in the ZEISS photo competition by the city of Hong Kong itself. The streets of the city teem with life, but Cheng feels that these particular images capture some of the peace and composure within this vibrant city. He considers the Makro-Planar T* 2/100 ZF to be the perfect lens, and he always takes it with him on his forays through the city. He enthuses about the clear, bright and brilliant pictures that the lens helps him to produce.
