The Leaders of the World Smile at a Zeiss Planar T* 2,8/80
In a high-profile, high-security event all heads of states, prime ministers and presidents attending the United Nations Millenium Summit on Sept. 6, 2000 in New York gathered for what can be called ”the ultimate group photo”. These high-power men and women included notables like Kofi Annan, Bill Clinton, Fidel Castro, Yasser Arafat, Ehud Barak, Gerhard Schröder, and almost 200 more.
One of the photographers involved in this unique event was Tony Corbell of Hasselblad USA. He used a Hasselblad 555 ELD camera loaded with Kodak Portra 400 VC color negative film. His lens was a Zeiss Planar 2,8/80 set at f/22 to achieve sufficient depth of field for all 200 people arranged in nine rows.
The shot came off beautifully. It was published in, among others, Hasselblad Reflections, Fall 2000 issue, which can be obtained from Hasselblad USA Inc. www.hasselbladusa.com | |
