As you will perhaps already guess after the virtual tour of the lens production, an enormous amount of work is required to guarantee constantly high quality and performance. No less impressive is even a fleeting insight into the functioning and the production of the Prontor shutters combined with diaphragms. A fascinating interaction of more than 300(!) individual components, many of which perform movements, and all this in a very tight space.. The Prontor plant located in an idyllic valley in the north of the Black Forest emerged from the company Alfred Gauthier GmbH. The year 2002 marks 100 years of technological tradition at the Calmbach location. This tradition is reflected in the experience, workmanship and sophistication incorporated in the products manufactured in Calmbach. Perhaps you will agree with us by the end of our tour. The name Prontor is derived from Gauthier's legendary PRONTOR shutter model.
