The General-Purpose Zoom Lens for the new Contax N1
This compact autofocus zoom lens has the potential to become the bestseller among the optics for the new Contax N1. It includes the focal lengths most used in today’s 35 mm SLR photography, even wide angles up to 84 degrees. The smallest object size is about half a page of Camera Lens News, minimum object distance is 31 centimeters. Many Contax N1 users will find that this lens can handle up to 90% of their photo tasks.
The optical formula includes 14 elements in 12 groups. Two of the elements are made of fluor-crown glass with anomalous partial dispersion. Also, two aspherical surfaces are used. Special care has been taken to control stray light exceptionally well.
The diameter is 87 mm, length is 96 to 125 mm depending on zoom setting. The lens weighs 610 grams. Filter thread is 82 mm wide, non-rotating, to enable the use of high quality optical filters, even a combination of two, completely without vignetting. An additional lens shade can be attached per bayonet mount. | |
