| | The LSM 700 is characterized by many technical innovations, which contribute to the system's excellent optical quality.
The variable secondary dichroic (VSD) beamsplitter constitutes the core of the LSM 700: an optical element with which the emission light can be shared out to the system's two detectors in continuously variable proportions.
An instrument of top Carl Zeiss quality, the precision pinhole is completely controlled by motors, which can continuously vary its aperture and position.
Because of its special geometrical arrangement, the FixGATE main beamsplitter separates the fluorescence signal returned by the specimen from the excitation light with outstanding efficiency.
The mirror cascade in the scanning module reflects all excitation wavelengths into the system's optical axis – precisely and color-corrected.
Laser Life Extender
If any laser of the LSM 700 is not used for more than 15 minutes, it is switched off automatically. This considerably prolongs the service life of the laser diodes and cuts the system's maintenance costs.
Calibration objective and System Maintenance Tool (SMT) adjust and cali-
brate the LSM 700 fully automatically. With a few mouse clicks and after less than 30 minutes, the optimum settings of your LSM 700 CLSM have been restored – a basic prerequisite for precise operation. |
