Tetrahymena centrin

Tetrahymena centrin
The polyglycylation domain mutant (DDDE, deficient in b-tubulin polyglycylation) of Tetrahymena thermophila, labeled with anti-centrin antibody (green). Nuclei are labeled red with propidium iodide. Note the dense packing of basal bodies in the ciliary rows of each subcell indicating that basal body replication is unaffected in this mutant, although there seems to be an increased number of basal bodies.
