Alzheimers FLIM – FRET
FLIM demonstrates FRET within alpha-synuclein inclusions in transfected cells. FRET between anti-synuclein antibody (labeled with fluorescein) and anti-HSP (heat shock protein, labeled with Cy3). There is FRET between these two proteins throughout the cell, including within the inclusions formed from protein aggregates, but little FRET within the nucleus. Fluorescence lifetimes are pseudocolored from red (short) to blue (long).
