| Göttingen, 21.11.2001. The Axiostar entry-level microscope from Carl Zeiss is now also available with high-quality fluorescence contrast and extensive ergonomic features – at a surprisingly low price! The Axiostar plus is ideal for doctor's offices, hospitals, laboratories, schools and universities, and even for open-air use thanks to its optional LED illumination. The Axiostar plus, a further development of the time-tried Axiostar, the smallest instrument in the Carl Zeiss line of upright microscopes, offers features formerly available only in higher performance classes. This includes a fluorescence module for reflected-light illumination. A filter slider permits up to three fluorescence cubes to be used simultaneously thanks to the patented Push-and-Click technology. Fluorescence excitation is provided by the proven HBO 50 mercury lamp. Today, ergonomic features are important even for small microscopes, since these are often used in routine applications. Carl Zeiss therefore offers the Axiostar plus with a novel feature: the simple and yet highly effective Ergo base plate permits the separate setting of four different viewing angles and four different viewing heights. This means that the microscope can be set as required by each user and therefore meets static ergonomic requirements. Furthermore, dynamic ergonomic requirements are met by the possibility of easy setting change to permit different viewing positions to be taken by the user when working with the microscope for long periods of time. Further user-friendly components are the tubes with a 30° viewing angle and the extended and variably adjustable stage drive with skin-friendly soft-touch controls. A further special feature is the LED illumination which can be used optionally. Even without line connection, it provides brilliant images while the color temperature remains stable. Important to know for the existing Axiostar community: the Axiostar can be retrofitted with all the new components of the Axiostar plus!
