Optimized lens constants for the IOLMaster®
For lens power calculation using IOLMaster measurements, only lens constants optimized for use with the IOLMaster should be used, not the manufacturer's IOL constants. The User Group for Laser Interference Biometry, or ULIB, publishes optimized lens constants on its website for the calculation of intraocular lens power with the IOLMaster.

The lens constants available from this website are based on actual surgical data and are provided by ULIB as a starting point for IOLMaster users. Carl Zeiss Meditec does not create, validate, verify or otherwise confirm that these third party lens constants are correct or appropriate for IOL implantation.

Importing optimized ULIB lens constants into the IOLMaster
By courtesy of ULIB (Dr. Wolfgang Haigis, University Eye Clinic, Wuerzburg, Germany,) Carl Zeiss Meditec provides these IOL constants in a downloadable file for importing into the IOLMaster using the following media:
  • 3.5" floppy disk (version 3.00 to version 3.02)
  • CD-R(W) or USB Flash drive (version 4.xx or higher)

These lOL constants are provided without any legal responsibility by Carl Zeiss Meditec (CZM). Customer acknowledges that CZM has not created, validated, verified or otherwise confirmed that these third-party lens constants are correct or appropriate for IOL implantation. Customer is responsible for verifying the validity of the Imported Constants. This may include confirming that the values of the Imported Constants are at parity with those listed on the ULIB website. CZM's liability for any personal injury or equipment damage (e.g., caused by computer virus transmission) arising from or associated with the import and subsequent use of the Imported Constants shall be limited to gross negligence and wrongful intent. Customer assumes all responsibility for subsequent uses of the Imported Constants, including use by other surgeons and clinical staff. CZM shall not be liable for any consequential damages arising from the use of this database.

Please insert floppy disk or CD-R(W) into your drive or plug-in the flash drive into the USB port. The download file is in .zip format. Do not unzip this file. Follow the instructions in the IOLMaster User Manual to import optimized lens constants from this file.

Certain IOL models are not approved in some countries.
