A special platform is needed to build a bridge without requiring the crew to leave the protected interior of the vehicle. The multi-sensor platform for bridge layers was developed for this purpose.
This armoured, unstabilised multi-sensor platform has been specially adapted to the limited space available on the top cover of a bridge laying tank. It was developed for the German-Dutch bridge laying program, but is also suitable for lightly armoured and special vehicles. The multi-sensor platform contains an uncooled thermal imager, a b/w daylight camera and a laser rangefinder. It is also available with reinforced housing to more effectively protect the sensors against enemy fire. More powerful sensors can also be integrated. | |
