Bird strike warning system Mivotherm
Flying Safely Is not Just for the Birds
Mivotherm
Every day, flocks of birds take off on their search for food or a place to nest. On top of that, around 50 billion migratory birds head south for the winter every year. For orientation, they follow the highways of the air – rivers, valleys and coastlines. These landmarks often cross the air corridors of airports. Precisely predicting the flight path of a flock of birds along such corridors and thus protecting aircraft against collisions is now possible with Mivotherm, the bird strike warning system featuring accuracy down to the nearest second. It is based on the highly sensitive thermal imagers from Carl Zeiss Optronics GmbH that have proven their capabilities in international operations.
