Every day, flocks of birds take off on their search for food or a place to nest. On top of that, around 50 billion migratory birds head south for the winter every year. For orientation, they follow the highways of the air – rivers, valleys and coastlines. These landmarks often cross the air corridors of airports. Precisely predicting the flight path of a flock of birds along such corridors and thus protecting aircraft against collisions is now possible with Mivotherm, the bird strike warning system featuring accuracy down to the nearest second.
