Camp Protection
Intelligent optronics optimise military camp protection
Anytime, the safety of soldiers and the equipment must also be ensured in a military camp. Optronics that permit long-distance observation of the camp's surrounding area are absolutely vital to achieving this goal. They help to make quick decisions to have to take action.

Carl Zeiss Optronics offers modular multi-sensor platforms for day and night use. They are suitable for observation towers, mobile units and separate use. In addition to observation, detection and identification, they enable range determination to objects, including their coordinates, if combined with a GPS function as well as an eye-safe laser rangefinder.
The pan/tilt head can be rotated n x 360° and tilted ±45°. A light guide cable transmits image data and control signals between the operator and the pan/tilt head containing the sensors. The operator is free to decide at any time whether to record the infrared image or the CCD camera image using the digital video recorder. When used in the automatic mode, the system provides programmable sector and polygon scans and enables programming of observation directions.

Radar tracking can optionally be integrated. In addition to image and data recording, the system permits the creation of maps with positional information. The complete system is packed in special transport and storage cases to facilitate relocation. Trained personnel can set up the equipment in a matter of hours.
