An unstabilised multi-sensor platform is often sufficient for many military, paramilitary and civilian tasks as these duties must only be completed either while in motion in a limited number of cases or only while standing still. These include observation and surveillance with a stationary mast observation system, a stationary vehicle or while building a bridge using a bridge-layer.
Platforms for simple vehicle systems mechanically coupled to the weapons system can also be used. Carl Zeiss Optronics offers unstabilised platforms and equips them with application-specific sensors in accordance with customer wishes. | |
