Panorama periscopes are used in howitzers and are required to determine the position of the artillery and for observation. The latest generation instruments feature a laser rangefinder and a residual light intensifier. They enable day and night observation and can be used to determine position with the laser rangefinder. Targeting periscopes are primarily deployed with armored vehicles, armored reconnaissance tanks and gun carriages. They are versatile and can be equipped with a residual light intensifier or a thermal imager. | |
