What is the size of the image (virtual screen)
I see with the cinemizer?

The user of a cinemizer plus video glasses gets the impression of looking on a screen of size of 45-inch in 2 meters distance. A technical attribute therefore is ‘Field Of View’ (FoV), which describes the angle of view. The FoV for the cinemizer is 32°, which is equivalent to an image of size of 45-inch in 2 meters (6.6 feet) distance.

Image size information from manufactures, which are not referred to
2 meters distance can’t be compared. To compare virtual screen sizes, the attribute ‘FoV’ has to be taken into account.

The cinemizer plus virtual screen size of 45-inch in 6.6 feet distance
(2 meters) is equivalent to a virtual screen size of 74-inch in 9.8 feet
(3 meters) or 98-inch in 13 feet (4 meters) distance.

For which interpupillary distance (PD) is the cinemizer plus suitable?

The cinemizer plus is suitable for a PD of 5.9 to 6.9 cm. No adjustments or settings need to be made here. However, it is possible that a distorted visual impression results if the PD is extremely high or low, e.g. differences in brightness.

I have the feeling that the brightness of the two displays is different. Can this be set?

Setting is not possible: the displays are correctly aligned in the factory. The distorted impression can be due to the user’s specific PD.

Could it be that the position of the video glasses has an influence on the image quality?

The cinemizer plus video glasses has two LCD’s delivering the images for the user. From LCD monitors it is known that the angle of view is a crucial detector for the image impression.

Same situation we have with the cinemizer plus. When watching videos with the cinemizer, the angle of view is depending on the form of your bridge. There are two additional nosepad adaptors, which can be used to optimize the angle of view and therefore the image/video quality.

Can I see anything through the video eyewear while I am using the cinemizer plus?

No. It is not possible to see through the glasses because the housing accommodates the optics and technology. You will only be able to look out below the lower edge of the glasses e.g. to operate the iPod.

How does 3D actually work with cinemizer plus?

When talking about 3D movies we talk about stereoscopic 3D content. This is either stereoscopic recorded videos/movies, which means 2 cameras are recording real video from 2 perspectives (2 eyes) or stereoscopic 3D animated (computer created) content like movie or games. As a result a video is created which contains information for the left and right eye. The most common used 3D format for distributing 3D videos is the side-by-side format. This means, the images for the left eye and the images for the right eye are added side by side in one frame (vertical split).

The cinemizer plus supports same frame rate in 2D and 3D which is 50 Hz for PAL and 60 Hz for NTSC, so the video is flicker-free.

Please see a detailed description of the cinemizer 3D format:

Why I can't see a picture but hear a sound when using the cinemizer plus with my iPod nano?

When connecting an iPod nano with the cinemizer while a video is played, your iPod nano does not deliver the video signals to the cinemizer. Please make sure that no video is played on your iPod nano when cinemizer is connected. After your iPod nano is connected to the cinemizer and successfully authenticated, you can start playing a video.

Please make sure that the video setting 'TV-Out' is switched on.
