Send your riflescope to our customer service team either directly or via your dealer. It is best to use our service form for this. service-form

Pfeil

Does the new ASV+ fit on to old riflescopes? Is the "old" ASV also available for new riflescopes?

The new ASV+ only fits on the riflescope ranges VICTORY HT, Victory Diavari, Victory Varipoint iC and Classic Diavari (available from June 2012). The Victory FL Diavari can be fitted with the previous ASV. The previous ASV is not designed for use with the VICTORY HT.

Victory Diarange

Pfeil

How far does the measurement range of the Victory Diarange extend?

The laser rangefinder is capable of measuring a distance of 10 to 999 metres.

Pfeil

Can I also use the ASV for shots over 400 metres?

The ASV is normally envisaged for adjustment up to 400 metres. We can, however, also engrave special rings for the ASV upon request. Our customer service will be happy to help you with this.

VICTORY HT

Pfeil

How much brighter are the new VICTORY HT riflescopes compared to the Varipoint and Victory FL Diavari, and can I really see the difference?

Some 30 years after Carl Zeiss broke through the 90% transmission threshold in the design of its binoculars and riflescopes, the new optical concept, combined with the innovative high transmission (HT) lenses from SCHOTT have now achieved unrivalled transmission values of up to 95% and more. In addition, the HT illuminated reticles (60 and 54) lose no light at all, which gives the advantage of several percentage points in terms of transmission.
This advantage is clearly visible in the final, critical moments of twilight.

Pfeil

What is the difference between FL, HD, HT and ED?

ED = Extra low Dispersion = low chromatic aberrations

HD = High Definition. HD is not a type of lens. Instead it describes the result of the ED lenses: very good resolution

FL = Fluoride Lenses; a special, high-quality sub-category of the ED lenses

HT = High Transmission = lenses by SCHOTT with very good transmission properties.

We use HT in the sense of a complete HT concept: binoculars that are based on the FL binoculars but which have extremely high levels of light transmission.
VICTORY HT binoculars also have FL and HT lenses.
VICTORY HT riflescopes do not have FL lenses.

Victory Varipoint iC

Pfeil

Which weapons can I use with Illumination Control?

The Varipoint iC riflescopes can be combined with the Blaser R8 and R93.

Pfeil

Why are the Varipoint iC models only available with rails?

To be able to connect the activation of the illuminated dot with the cocking of the rifle, a defined mounting distance is necessary. This requirement is optimally met by means of an inner rail.

Pfeil

In what position must my Varipoint iC riflescope be mounted? How does my riflescope know if my rifle is cocked?

The two systems communicate using a sensor in the riflescope and a magnet in the cocking slide. Because the mounting position can vary slightly, the distance from the sensor to the cocking slide can also vary. It is necessary to set it up so that the sensor can determine the position of the cocking slide clearly. You can read how this works in our assembly instructions.

Pfeil

I would like to use my Varipoint iC riflescope with a different rifle in the future. What do I need to be aware of when changing the rifle?

It is necessary to set it up again so that the cocking slide communicates correctly with the Varipoint iC. You can read how this works in our assembly instructions.

Pfeil

I already own a Victory Varipoint riflescope. Can I retrofit this to the iC version?

Retrofitting of a Victory Varipoint device to a Varipoint iC device is unfortunately not possible due to the extensive electronics and the different shape.

Pfeil

I already own a Blaser R8 / R93. Can I retrofit this to the iC version?

Subsequent retrofitting is possible. Please contact Blaser for more detailed information.

Victory FL Diavari

Pfeil

Why do the Victory FL Diavari riflescopes have a parallax adjustment?

The parallax error occurs if the game is a long distance away and the shooter looks into the eyepiece at a slight angle. Then the image and reticle are shifted next to each other slightly. Because the Victory FL Diavari riflescopes are especially designed for shooting over long distances, they are equipped with adjustable parallax compensation for the range of 50 m to infinity. With precise focussing, you then have no parallax errors even with high magnifications or angled views, and the reticle and image are at the same image plane and are razor-sharp.

Pfeil

Is the Victory FL Diavari 6-24x72 T* also available with the Rapid-Z® reticle?

The Victory FL Diavari 6-24x72 T* is not normally available with the Rapid-Z® reticle. However, conversion is possible at any time. Our customer service team in Wetzlar would be happy to help you further with this.

Pfeil

Is it possible to equip the models with both ballistic concepts, in other words, with the Rapid-Z® reticle and the ASV at the same time?

The ASV can be retrofitted and the reticle can be converted to Rapid-Z®. This way you can then select between one of the two concepts.

Victory Diavari

Pfeil

Victory Diavari or Victory Varipoint iC – what is the difference?

Only non-illuminated reticles are available for Victory Diavari riflescopes.
The Victory Varipoint iC riflescopes are equipped with a dimmable illuminated dot, which is even suitable for hunting during the day. In addition, the illumination control is coupled to the operation of the rifle (Blaser R93 und Blaser R8) with the Victory Varipoint iC riflescopes.

Classic Diatal

Pfeil

Classic Diatal or Classic Diavari – what is the difference?

The Classic Diatal riflescopes are equipped with a fixed magnification that cannot be adjusted.
The magnification of the Classic Diavari riflescopes is variable. The reticle is in the 1st image plane and magnifies itself.
The illuminated reticles in all Classic riflescopes are for twilight use.

Classic Diavari

The illuminated reticles in all the Classic riflescopes are for twilight use.

Duralyt

Pfeil

Why do the Duralyt models cost less than the Victory / Classic models?

The Duralyt devices were developed with optimised costs. This way, the assembly times in the Wetzlar factory in particular were reduced. The devices thus have a more simple construction than our more expensive product lines. The choice of equipment and reticle types is also reduced to a minimum: Two reticles are available, but no rail and no ASV. However, no compromises were made in terms of precision and reliability.

Pfeil

I would like to have ASV / rails / LotuTec®. Is this possible for a Duralyt?

The Duralyt riflescopes have been reduced to the basics: Functionality and robustness.
If you would like to have innovative solutions such as ASV (bullet drop compensation), illumination control or special ballistic reticles, we recommend the riflescopes from the Victory or Classic lines.

Pfeil

With such a good price-performance ratio, surely the Duralyt riflescopes are manufactured in the Far East?

The Duralyt riflescopes are manufactured at Carl Zeiss in Wetzlar – in other words, “Made in Germany”.

Pfeil

Why push-button control?

The push-button control was chosen in order to optimise costs and due to the particular simplicity of the concept. Due to the ergonomic aspects, the more expensive rotating dial solution used for the Classic and Victory lines remains unsurpassed. This offers superior operating comfort in comparison to push-buttons, but means that customers have to become familiar with the basic concept.

Z-Point

Pfeil

Is the Z-Point free of parallax?

Yes, from 1 m to infinity.

Pfeil

How can the battery lifecycle be estimated for the Z-Point?

The advantage of the Z-Point is that it is supplied with energy by a solar cell in daylight. This extends the life of the battery.

Compact Point

Pfeil

How can I control the illuminated dot on the Victory Compact Point?

Press the function key to turn it on. Each subsequent pressing of the key increases the intensity. Five levels are available.
Hold the button to turn it off. The last intensity selected is saved and is available again the next time it is turned on.

Pfeil

What mounting options do I have?

The Compact Point Standard is suitable for mounting on Picatinny / Weaver rails.
The Compact Point Blaser can be mounted onto the Blaser R93 directly thanks to integrated MAKnetic mounting.
The Compact Point ZEISS plate can be mounted on many types of rifles using the adapter plate. Please contact you gunsmith or mounting specialist.

Pfeil

What role does parallax play for the Compact Point?

On the basis that aiming is over shorter distances, parallax does not, in practice, play any role with the Compact Point. It is parallax-free at 40m.

Binoculars

First hand information.

Common

Pfeil

Are there also leather carrying straps for the binoculars?

No, leather carrying straps are not currently included in the range of goods supplied. The Air Cell comfort strap is very comfortable for binoculars with a lens diameter of 30 mm or more. It has an air cushion, a wide contact surface and is produced to a very high quality.

VICTORY HT

Pfeil

How much brighter are the new VICTORY HT binoculars compared to the Victory FL binoculars and can I really see the difference?

Some 30 years after Carl Zeiss broke through the 90% transmission threshold in the design of its binoculars and riflescopes, its new optical concept, combined with the innovative high transmission (HT) lenses from SCHOTT have now achieved unrivalled transmission values of up to 95% and more – which is around 5% better than the nearest rival.
The difference to the existing Victory FL range is just a few percentage points in terms of transmission, but is clearly visible in the final, critical moments of twilight.

Victory FL

Pfeil

The eyecups on my Victory FL binoculars are damaged. Can I replace them?

The eyecups can be replaced without any problems – simply continue to rotate them carefully, once the eyecups have been rotated out fully. Our customer service team will be happy to send you replacements free of charge.

Pfeil

Why is polycarbonate used for the housing of the Victory FL binoculars?

The advantage of the housing material used is that it reacts flexibly to impacts and temperature fluctuations. It is nevertheless extremely sturdy and very light.

Victory Compact

Pfeil

Why is the joint of the Victory Compact asymmetrical?

The asymmetrical joint allows the Victory Compact to be folded very easily into the smallest of spaces, even with only one hand.

Measurement can be carried out with the Victory Rangefinder up to a distance of 1,200 metres.

Pfeil

Can I enter my own values?

No, input of your own values is not possible. However, the existing programs in the Ballistic Information System BIS® cover all common loads. You can find the correct program for your ammunition in the BIS® calculator.

Pfeil

The eyecups on my Victory RF binoculars are damaged. Can I replace them?

The eyecups can be replaced without any problems – simply continue to rotate them carefully once the eyecups have been rotated out fully. Our customer service team will be happy to send you replacements free of charge.

Pfeil

I already own high-quality binoculars, however without an integrated rangefinder. I don't want to dispense with my current binoculars for the sake of an integrated solution.

The Victory Pocket Rangefinder is an alternative to the Victory Rangefinder binoculars with fully-integrated range finding capability. This monocular rangefinder also has the Ballistic Information System BIS® and is very compact. This way, the Victory 8x26 T* PRF can be easily carried in addition to high-quality binoculars (such as the Victory FL or VICTORY HT).

Pfeil

Can I use a different battery?

Please use only type CR 2 lithium batteries. We recommend that you only use high-quality branded batteries. A new battery is sufficient for more than 2000 measurements at 20 °C.

The eyecups can be replaced without any problems. Our customer service team will be happy to send you replacements free of charge. Please state the serial number of your binoculars, because there are different types.

Marine 7x50

Pfeil

Can the metal of the glasses affect a compass?

No, the housing material (aluminium) has been especially selected so that compasses are not affected.

Pfeil

The eyecups on my Marine binoculars are damaged. Can I replace them?

The eyecups can be replaced without any problems. Our customer service team will be happy to send you replacements free of charge. Please state the serial number of your binoculars, because there are different types.

20x60 T* S

Pfeil

The 20x60 T* S has an unusually high twilight factor. Does that mean that it is particularly suitable for use in twilight?

The 20x60 T* S does have a large lens diameter, however its suitability for use in twilight is limited due to the high magnification. A Victory 8x56 T* FL, for example, would be better suited for use in twilight conditions.

By the way: The twilight factor alone is not an indication of the suitability for use in twilight conditions. A large eye relief and of course - in addition to the purely numerical sizes - the actual performance of binoculars, in terms of image sharpness, transmission and contrast reproduction is more important.

Victory NV

Pfeil

What changes have been made to the previous night vision device?

The reticle to estimate distance is new. This can also be used to support the dioptre adjustment. Furthermore, the outer glass surfaces are now also coated with the LotuTec® protective coating.

Pfeil

Is it now ROHS-compliant?

The night vision device naturally – like all other Carl Zeiss products – conforms to all legal requirements. This applies for ROHS guidelines just as it does for CE.

Pfeil

Will it damage the tube if the Victory NV is held in the light or if the protective cap is not used during the day?

No, the tube will not be damaged immediately. However, contact with light should be avoided, because this may cause the lifecycle of the intensifier tube to be reduced.

Monoculars

Pfeil

I want to use the Mono 3x12 T* on my ZEISS binoculars as an intensifier. Is there a universal adapter?

There are different adapters to ensure a secure connection – for the Victory FL/RF, Conquest 30/45, Conquest 40/50/56 and for the Dialyt 8x56 GA T*. Please therefore state the binoculars you would like to use with the Mono 3x12 T* when placing your order.

Spotting Scopes

First hand information.

Victory PhotoScope

Pfeil

Is there also a video function and, if so, what is the resolution?

It is possible to record videos on the SD card. The quality is QVGA - 320x240 pixels. Up to 1 hour of video can fit on a 1 gigabyte SD card.

Pfeil

Is there an AV in/out interface?

No, there is no direct AV interface for live transmission of images on a television, because this is primarily a device for outdoor use.

Victory DiaScope

Pfeil

How does the Dual Speed Focus work?

The Dual Speed Focus combines two focussing speeds in one knob. If you rotate the knob to the left or right, you will feel a little resistance in the outer areas. Within this area, you are in fine mode.
If you rotate through this resistance, you are in coarse mode. As soon as you change the direction in coarse mode, you are in fine mode again. Try this principle a few times. It is very easy and can be operated quickly and intuitively.

Pfeil

Can the old eyepieces be converted to the safety catch mechanism?

This is unfortunately not possible at a reasonable cost, because the mechanical dimensions of the eyepiece would have to be changed for the safety catch.
The spotting scope body of the old Victory Diascope can also not be converted to use the safety catch.

Pfeil

How can I distinguish the new eyepieces from the previous models?

You can recognise the new eyepieces from the "D" suffix in the product description.

Pfeil

I would like the new Vario eyepiece D 15-56x/20-75x, but have the older Victory Diascope model. Does this fit together?

Yes, the new eyepieces are also compatible with the old Diascope generation. Only the eyepiece safety catch does not work then.

Pfeil

Can the old carrying cases continue to be used with the new DiaScope spotting scopes?

The old carrying cases cannot be used with the new spotting scopes. New carrying cases with an excellent fit and functionality are available for the new Victory DiaScope.

Pfeil

Can I continue to use my previous eyepieces?

Yes, but without a safety catch.

Dialyt

Pfeil

What is the transmission of the Dialyt spotting scope in comparison to the Victory DiaScope models?

It is not possible to compare the Dialyt and Victory DiaScope, because the devices are in different classes: The Victory DiaScope has been designed for the best viewing experience without compromise and offers a range of interchangeable eyepieces for all applications. The Dialyt, in contrast, is reduced to the basics in order to be used quickly - even in adverse conditions - and to quickly recognise fine details at a great distance. The Dialyt is therefore for identification and not for visual experience. Compact dimensions, low weight, maximum robustness and not least an acceptable price - these are the Dialyt qualities. Both devices offer extremely high transmission values for their respective class.

First hand information.

Pfeil

What do ZEISS binoculars, spotting scopes or riflescopes cost?

Due to different international cost and tax structures, we do not publish any national price lists on the internet. We would be happy to send you a price list on request.

Pfeil

Where can I find an explanation of specialist terms relating to sports optics products?

Many terms are explained in our Optics ABC. If the term that you are looking for is not in there, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Pfeil

What do the abbreviations mean?

Meaning of the abbreviations

FL

HT
High Transmission = lenses by SCHOTT with very good transmission properties.

Pfeil

Can I have LotuTec® retrofitted to my riflescope / binoculars?

The coating of external lenses with LotuTec® is a highly complex process that takes place during the production process. Subsequent coating is not possible.

Pfeil

When should I send in my binoculars or riflescope?

Small damage that may appear innocuous may have undesirable side effects – for example, a tiny dent in a binocular or riflescope caused by a hard knock. At first, the functionality of the riflescope seems to be unaffected, but in many cases the damaged object can no longer be guaranteed to be 100 percent waterproof. That means – even with a waterproof housing, moisture may seep through. The result of that small dent: lenses can steam up internally.

Pfeil

How long do I have to wait for my product to come back from the repair service?

Klaus Felgenhauer, Head of Customer Service in Wetzlar, is constantly working to cut repair times: “In the last five years we have completely restructured our customer service operations. While waiting times used to be considerably longer, today we get all repairs done in an average of six working days – depending on the complexity, age and type of product. This does not take delivery times into account. In 80 per cent of cases we are now even managing an average processing time of maximum five working days.”

Pfeil

Why do I get a personal warranty card as a ZEISS customer?

This card contains the serial number of your ZEISS product.
ZEISS products are sometimes stolen. Please contact us immediately if this should happen and give us the serial number. Astonishingly, stolen items of equipment occasionally turn up with us in customer services, and we are then able to inform the customer who suffered the theft. At the same time the personal warranty card serves as proof of ownership.

Pfeil

What do I need to do if I want my ZEISS binoculars or riflescope to be checked over?

You could either send us your product directly or you could arrange it all via your dealer or gunsmith. Where possible please remember to include your warranty card or proof of purchase. This helps us to determine the warranty period. It is important to include a brief description of the repair that needs to be carried out.
The best way to do this is to download our repair form. Simply fill in the form and send it, together with your well packaged item, to the following address:

Carl Zeiss Sports Optics GmbH
Customer Service
Gloelstr. 3-5
35576 Wetzlar

We will examine your product in detail. You will then be given a quotation of the anticipated costs and you can decide whether you would like us to do the work or not. As soon as we have your permission, we get started on the repair.
We sometimes carry out small repair jobs free of charge. In this case instead of a quotation you will simply receive your restored product back again.
