Today's challenges – tomorrow's solutions
What determines the world – and how ZEISS responds to it
Challenges shaping our era
It is not only digitalization that is causing the world to change rapidly. Sustainability and health are also shaping our age. ZEISS is proactively addressing these global developments.
Future technologies and applications
Behind every challenge is a path – and a solution. With innovative developments in research fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced materials, automation or optics and photonics, ZEISS empowers people to make the seemingly impossible possible.
Examples from everyday use
The Robotic Visualization System® KINEVO® 900 from ZEISS has been developed with over 100 innovations to perfect the already acclaimed surgical visualization platform. Surgeon-Controlled Robotics allow ZEISS KINEVO 900 to assist the surgeons better while making their workflow easier and more efficient. ZEISS KINEVO 900 thereby supports surgeons to gain greater certainty while using robotics to reduce manual effort.
For high-quality components
Defects on the surfaces or inside of components can affect quality, stability and functionality. ZEISS VoluMax detects critical defects in manufacturing as they arise. In just a few minutes, information is collected to provide insight into porosity or the correct assembly of subassemblies.
Futuristic lens consultation
Digital as well as individualized services are becoming more and more popular – also for people who wear glasses. The ZEISS VISUFIT 1000 digital platform meets this demand: it combines the highest level of precision with an appealing, shopping experience in the specialty store and also online to combine the professional services of the optician with the digital demands of the consumer.
Eyes scan faster
The latest generation of optical coherence tomography: the future of eye examination is called ZEISS CIRRUS 6000. It is a combination of fast images and HD imaging details with a wider field of view. This gives doctors the opportunity to make even more informed decisions – and more time for patients.
X-ray microscope of the future
The Xradia Versa product family from ZEISS offers unprecedented versatility for scientific and industrial research. 3D X-ray microscopes enable the best resolution and excellent contrast – from work on lithium-ion batteries to electric vehicle development through to additive manufacturing.
Exploring the living cell
The ZEISS Lattice Lightsheet 7 microscopy solution makes it possible for the first time to observe living cells live and in 3D for hours and even days. This opens up new possibilities, for example for cancer research. In 2022, the developers were awarded the Deutscher Zukunftspreis(German Future Prize).
