ZEISS is the global technology leader in the production of systems and modules for microchip production. With semiconductor manufacturing optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS supplies key technologies for the production of ultra-fine conductor track structures on silicon wafers – the raw material used to make microchips. Advances in computer technology largely rely on the ongoing development of optical lithography – each new generation enables even finer structures to be produced on the microchips. This makes circuits more compact, resulting in more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips every year. ZEISS has been driving the development of semiconductor manufacturing technology right from day one. The company's new and unique extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography has created a series of further generations of microchips with ever greater integration density.

ZEISS microscopes visualize tiny structures in nano dimensions, and highly efficient metrology systems guarantee productivity and quality in industry. Prominent scientists put their trust in ZEISS microscopes when conducting their research. Robert Koch, who discovered the bacterium that causes tuberculosis in 1900, was just one of our famous customers. To this very day, researchers from all over the world use light, electron/ion and X-ray microscopes from ZEISS to make even the smallest structures and fastest processes visible.
Industrial Metrology also boasts a tradition spanning over 100 years. Measuring technology and software solutions from ZEISS provide perfect results in many sectors of industry, such as e-mobility, medical technology, additive manufacturing and aircraft construction, where precision, quality and efficiency are essential success factors. With a strong, broad technology and software portfolio, comprehensive expertise and a global presence, ZEISS is the preferred partner of industry. In addition to extensive service offerings, innovative technologies such as 3D X-ray metrology round off the portfolio.
