Routing order of ZEISS

As per individual order you have been asked to arrange a delivery of goods to a ZEISS-location in Germany. The following instructions have to be followed if it had been agreed that transportation costs will be covered by ZEISS (=delivery as per INCOTERM EXW = ex works). Mentioned delivery addresses have to be used for shipping documents as per purchase order and/or other valid agreement.

Depending on the individual shipment type we kindly ask you to follow the individual instructions per shipment type described on the according tab if not mentioned otherwise on individual purchase order or agreed otherwise with ordering party.

If you do not follow our instructions we reserve the right to debit you with occurring additional costs.

  • Courier, Express, Parcel Services (CEP)

    Shipment of goods via Courier, Express or Parcel Services (CEP)

    Small or urgent shipments (national and international). International up to max. 30kg chargeable weight. National up to max. 65kg chargeable weight.
    Following specifications are not allowed to be exceeded:

    Service provider selection

    CEP service providers and their respective service have to be selected as per following matrix if not otherwise requested by ordering ZEISS-entity . If not requested otherwise each shipment to ZEISS has to be shipped via “standard” service.

    If a delivery of a shipment is explicitly requested by ZEISS via an express service (specific service mentioned on purchase order or due to max. delivery lead time) the according service and service provider has to be selected based on following matrix:

    ZEISS-references to be mentioned on shipping documents

    To allow a smooth goods-in process at ZEISS you are obliged to mention the individual ZEISS-reference (order number and/or Purchase Order (PO) number)
    per shipment on shipping documents and labels .

    Account numbers to be used

    Depending on the individual ZEISS entity and site the respective account has to be selected per CEP service provider. If not mentioned directly on the individual PO please follow the mentioned link on the purchase order to retrieve required account number.

    CEP Shipping Procedure:

    • Shipper selects payment term for individual shipment
    • Shipper uses according reference fields on AWB or label to mention ZEISS Reference (Order or PO Number)Shipper inserts ZEISS-Account in according field on AWB or label and selects Payment Term as per ZEISS request (refer to CEP-Accounts):
      - “Bill Shipping Charges to Receiver” for shipments to the ordering ZEISS entity
      - “Bill Shipping Charges to Third Party” for shipments other locations than the ordering ZEISS entity (as per PO)
    • Shipper selects payor for duties and taxes as per individual ZEISS order / PO. If there is no special agreement for the individual shipment the selection has to be do in parallel to the Payment Term selection above.
    • Shipper contacts 3PL (e.g. via 3PL hotline, email, etc.) to arrange collection of shipment 

    You do not have an existing Account with the requested CEP Service Provider?

    If you do not have an existing account with the requested CEP-Service Provider you may contact the Provider and ask for support (e.g. via 3PL hotline, email, etc.) to arrange an individual pick up.

    Please refer to mentioned link on the ZEISS PO to retrieve hotlines for shipping locations in Germany. If your company is located outside of Germany please refer to the local homepage of the individual Service Provider for your country to retrieve the valid contact. Depending on the individual time of shipment registration with the CEP- Service Provider the collection should be executed ASAP (even same day or latest day after).

    • You want to have your own CEP-Account number?

      An own account allows an easier process flow for future contact with the respective service provider.

       

      Following details are needed to apply for an own account number:

      • Name und address of shipping location
      • Operational contact (incl. phone and email)
      • invoice address
      • VAT ID“

       

  • Airfreight shipments

    Shipments via airfreight

    International shipments to ZEISS or a destination in EMEA named by ZEISS in PO. Packed in a carton or on pallet with a minimum of 30kg chargeable weight.

    Selection of service provider

    The individual service provider has to be selected as per following matrix depending on shipping country if not agreed otherwise in PO or general agreement with ordering ZEISS entity.

    You have to fill in required information in according cells within downloaded template. Afterwards template has to be to sent to Dachser to request pick up of shipment.

    Service Level Selection
    If not requested otherwise in the PO shipments have to be shipped via TargoFlex.


    Lead times
    Please allow following lead times for national shipments as follows (valid from Monday to Friday; not valid on bank holidays):
    • Request for pick up day A
    • Pick up day B
    • Delivery day C, latest day D

    Dachser provides lead times for international shipments on request. Shipments have to be registered with Dachser in time to allow a delivery in time.

  • Sea Freight Services

    Shipments via sea freight services

    To be used for high volume freight as FCL (=Full Container Load) or LCL (=Less than container load) shipments. The service provider selection has to be agreed individually with ZEISS purchasing department.
