Did You Know…

…that ZEISS Works With Angels and Oscar Winners?

Oscar winner Adrien Brody recently shined in Woody Allen’s "Midnight in Paris" as Spanish artist Salvador Dali. The actor then performed brilliantly in Paris next to an angel in an unusual staging: In the 2012 ZEISS Art Calendar with “Complementing Moments” as its theme, renowned photographer Ellen von Unwerth placed Brody next to supermodel and current Victoria’s Secret Angel Toni Garrn.

“Complementing Moments” evokes synergism and devoted partnership. This is also true of the interactions between customers and companies. ZEISS chose this analogy for the new edition of its exclusive calendar to express how much it appreciates its customers and partners.

Highlighted with minimal color accents on select images, the photographs taken in Paris are reminiscent of the esthetic style of the 1920s. The leitmotif is conveyed by the classic combination of man and woman, albeit in a very unique way: Few of the photos show the model and the actor together in person as a normal couple. Ellen von Unwerth created both unusual and tongue-in-cheek images in which the actor and supermodel convey different aspects of a relationship.

The 2012 ZEISS Art Calendar is the continuation of a tradition that is still in its early years. In the previous calendars in the series, Wim Wenders and Bryan Adams shot scenes with well-known actors. This exclusive, limited-edition calendar is not available in stores, yet it enjoys global cult status.
