Biography

Ludwin Monz is Member of the Executive Board of the ZEISS Group and heads the Medical Technology segment. In addition, he is the Member of the Executive Board of the ZEISS Group responsible for Corporate Quality Management and Research & Technology, and oversees the Japan, Spain, France and Turkey sales regions. Ludwin Monz became Member of the Executive Board of the ZEISS Group in 2014. He is also President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG.

In addition to his offices as Chairman and Member of the Supervisory Boards of ZEISS companies, he is Member of the Strategy Board of the Henley Business School and Member of the University Council of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena.

Ludwin Monz was born on 20 October 1963 in Trier, Germany. He graduated with a degree in physics from the University of Mainz in 1988. In 1992 he obtained his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Mainz. He also grduated with an MBA from Henley Management College in England.
