Biography

Ludwin Monz is a Member of the Executive Board and Head of the Medical Technology business group. Furthermore, he is the Member of the Executive Board responsible for Corporate Quality Management and Corporate Research and Technology. He also oversees the Spanish, Turkish and Japanese sales regions. Ludwin Monz has been a Member of the Executive Board since 2014 and is also the President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG.

In addition to his offices as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ZEISS companies, he is a member of the Strategy Board of the Henley Business School and a member of the University Council of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena.

Ludwin Monz was born in Trier on 20 October 1963. He studied physics at the University of Mainz and earned his degree in 1988. In 1992 he obtained his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) in physics at the University of Mainz. He also holds an MBA from the Henley Management College in England.
