ZEISS launches future-oriented initiative

On 16 November 2021, ZEISS held a virtual celebration to mark its 175th anniversary at the site where it was founded in Jena. In closing, the STEM initiative known as “A Heart for Science” was announced and creatively staged.

“A Heart for Science” demonstrates how ZEISS is expanding its social responsibility and brings together all STEM projects aimed at encouraging children and young people into science and research under one roof. Various new projects are being launched at the same time. Social responsibility has a long tradition at ZEISS. Social commitment and the promotion of science and education are among the company's guiding principles. The Carl Zeiss Foundation was established in 1889 and quickly compiled guidelines that have remained crucial to ZEISS to this very day. The new “A Heart for Science” initiative is ZEISS' way of forging a link with this tradition because it is actively encouraging young people to pursue careers in STEM.
