Winfried Kaiser honored with the SPIE Frits Zernike Award

Winfried Kaiser, head of Product Strategy of ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) and, as the highest point of his professional career Fellow of the company, has been honored with the 2020 Frits Zernike Award for Microlithography of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE). Kaiser received the prize during the SPIE Advanced Lithography Conference in San José, California. The award is considered to be the highest honor in microlithography.

Sony and ZEISS to expand strategic collaboration to Xperia smartphones

Successful start to fiscal year 2019/20 for Carl Zeiss Meditec

Carl Zeiss Meditec generated revenue of €369.7m in the first three months of fiscal year 2019/20, which corresponds to an increase of 14.2% (adjusted for currency effects: +12.7%) compared with the prior-year period (prior year: €323.6m). Both strategic business units achieved significant increases in revenue. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose as a result of the increase in revenue, to €56.8m (prior year: €48.1m). The EBIT margin increased further, to 15.4% (prior year: 14.9%).

ZEISS Accelerates Semiconductor Package Failure Analysis

ZEISS introduced the ZEISS Crossbeam Laser – a new family of site-specific focused ion beam scanning electron microscope (FIB-SEM) solutions that accelerate package failure analysis and process optimization for advanced semiconductor packages. Integrating a femtosecond laser for speed, a gallium ion (Ga+) beam for accuracy, and SEM for nanoscale-resolution imaging, the ZEISS Crossbeam Laser family provides package engineers and failure analysts with the fastest cross-section solution at the highest imaging performance.

ZEISS and RIKEN Innovation Co., Ltd. today entered into a strategic collaboration agreement to jointly explore opportunities in aiming to identify projects where the combination of RIKEN’s expertise in bioengineering and image data manipulation and ZEISS’ leadership in optical solutions can accelerate bioengineering innovations and bring about a paradigm change in health care.

The ZEISS Hunting App – Now Social

New features have been added to the ZEISS Hunting app to make day-to-day hunting activities with friends even easier. The free app allows users to create a profile and connect with their friends. Starting with version 3.3, users are now able to quickly share entries from their hunting diary, ballistics and equipment with friends or custom groups. All entries appear well-arranged in the newsfeed and can be commented or liked.

Annual Report 2018/19 for the ZEISS Group

The ZEISS Group continued its growth trajectory, with revenue and earnings reaching new heights in fiscal year 2018/19, which ended 30 September 2019. Revenue grew by 11 percent, reaching 6.428 billion euros (previous year: 5.817 billion euros). Adjusted for currency and consolidation effects , revenue rose by 8 percent.
