ZEISS was awarded the HPA Award for Engineering Excellence 2020 by the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) for the development of ZEISS eXtended Data (XD) technology. The lens metadata technology was launched with the ZEISS CP.3 XD lenses in 2017. It is also included in subsequent lens series ZEISS Supreme Prime and ZEISS Supreme Prime Radiance and is integrated into Fujinon’s Premista Zooms.

Bochum Planetarium Receives New ZEISS Technology

The ZEISS planetarium in Bochum has been equipped with new technology: its 11 ZEISS VELVET LED projectors will offer higher resolution and exceptional color brilliance thanks to LED light sources. These third-generation projectors have replaced the ten-year-old first-generation ZEISS VELVET projectors. So what's special about the ZEISS projectors? They offer the world's best contrast – and continue ensuring that astronomical simulations produce very realistic results in combination with the existing ZEISS UNIVERSARIUM Model IX star projector.

The efficient interaction of ZEISS GUARDUS and ZEISS Reverse Engineering (ZRE) accelerates not only the processes and correction loops in tool maintenance and tool construction. Green Logistics: E-Truck Pilot Project at ZEISS

We had to think a little bigger – no, it's not an electric car, but an electric truck! The electrically powered MAN eTGM will be hitting the road today for ZEISS as part of the vehicle fleet run by Schwarz Logistik GmbH. ZEISS is using the pilot project – which is being monitored by Aalen University – to test the suitability of electric commercial vehicles as part of the company's logistics. This constitutes yet another step on the road to greater sustainability for ZEISS Logistics.

The ZEISS Group continued its growth trajectory, with revenue and earnings reaching new heights in fiscal year 2018/19, which ended 30 September 2019. Revenue grew by 11 percent, reaching 6.428 billion euros (previous year: 5.817 billion euros). Adjusted for currency and consolidation effects, revenue rose by 8 percent.
