The ZEISS Innovation Hub on the campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has seen a number of successful collaborations and projects since it opened in early 2020. ZEISS wants the hub to house high-tech and digital start-ups, as well as its own innovation and new business activities. KIT will thus join forces with ZEISS experts to pave the way for the technologies of the future.

Three new high-speed, full-frame prime lenses – an 18 mm T1.5, 40 mm T1.5, and 200 mm T2.2 – have been added to the high-end ZEISS Supreme Prime series of cine lenses. The addition of the new 40 millimeter prime lens with a maximum aperture of T1.5 means that there is now a total of 14 prime lenses available in the series.

ZEISS is launching a new planetarium projector. The all-new ZEISS ASTERION is an optomechanical component designed to be used with a digital dome projection system for Hybrid Planetariums. The projector features a new design, with a Star Ball that is only as big as a medicine ball.

ZEISS Looks back on Good First Six Months Overall
Half-year revenue reaches 3.2 billion euros (+6% compared to prior year) – EBIT at 455 million euros (+12 million euros compared to prior year)
The ZEISS Group continued its growth trajectory, with revenue and earnings reaching new heights in fiscal year 2018/19, which ended 30 September 2019. Revenue grew by 11 percent, reaching 6.428 billion euros (previous year: 5.817 billion euros). Adjusted for currency and consolidation effects , revenue rose by 8 percent.
