Importance of International Guidelines

ZEISS adheres to the local laws and requirements in all of its business activities in the countries where it operates. ZEISS is also aware of the importance of more extensive social and ecological recommendations and standards, complies with these, and takes stipulations issued by national and international organizations into account.

United Nations Global Compact

The Global Compact is a United Nations strategic policy initiative for businesses. They commit to aligning their activities and strategies to ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. ZEISS uses the Global Compact as a reference model in the further development of sustainability at ZEISS.


Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition

The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) is a non-profit coalition of electronics companies. They are committed to supporting the rights and well-being of workers in the electronics industry. The vision of the EICC is “a global electronics industry supply chain that consistently operates with social, environmental and economic responsibility.”

The ZEISS Group’s Code of Conduct satisfies in full the requirements found in the Code of Conduct of the Electronic Citizenship Coalition (EICC).
