When changing your IOL makes a big difference.

ZEISS CT LUCIA

ZEISS CT LUCIA

Optimize your hydrophobic IOL performance

How much of a difference can a few small changes make? In the case of CT LUCIA® from ZEISS, a big difference. The hydrophobic, aspheric monofocal IOL incorporates a series of optimizations aimed at improving cataract surgical workflow and visual outcomes. And its familiar C-loop design means you don’t need to make significant modifications to your surgical technique.

Supplied in an easy-to-use, fully preloaded injection system, ZEISS CT LUCIA is available as a clear or a yellow blue-light filtering IOL.

Please note: various models of the CT LUCIA are available depending on the status of registration. Currently registered versions of the CT LUCIA are: the CT LUCIA 201P, 601P and 601PY, and the CT LUCIA 211P, 611P and 611PY.

Smooth delivery, excellent centration.1

Excellent postop visual quality - High contrast even under mesopic conditions

Patented ZO Asphericity Concept (ZO: ZEISS Optic)

The typical human eye is not optically symmetrical, and very few IOLs are perfectly centered in the eye. That is why vision contrast can degrade in some conditions, especially in low light. The patented ZO Asphericity Concept (ZO: ZEISS Optic) is designed to compensate for a range of aberrations arising from different corneal shapes and lens misalignments, making it a viable option for a high variety of patients. As a result, this unique optical design provides better imaging quality in real-life conditions.

What makes the ZO Asphericity Concept (ZO ZEISS Optic) unique?

Fig. 2 Schematic image of the ZO Asphericity Concept (ZO: ZEISS Optic)

CT LUCIA aspherical IOLs have the ZEISS Optic (ZO) asphericity concept and do not fall into the category of conventional aspheric IOLs as their radial power profiles are both positive and negative (Figure 1). The CT LUCIA ZO IOLs resemble a lens with negative spherical aberration in the inner part of the lens (downwardly opened curve in Figure 2) and one with positive spherical aberration in the outer regions (upward pointing curve for large radii).

Step-vaulted haptics are designed to maximize direct capsular contact. The C-loop shape combined with the reinforced haptic optic junction, has been developed to provide easy centering and reliable refractive predictability for your patients. The ZEISS CT LUCIA is made with ultra-high-purity hydrophobic acrylic material and a proprietary cryo-lathing process – supporting glistening-free lens properties.1,3,4 As a results postoperative refractive outcomes are very stable and long-term optical clarity is provided.1-5

The ZEISS CT LUCIA has a sophisticated 3 μm radius sharp-edge design on the entire optic edge forming a barrier to prevent early cell migration and posterior capsular opacification (PCO)2. The proprietary lathe-cut manufacturing technology provides edge sharpness and integrity.

Developed to optimize your surgical workflow

Fully pre-loaded injector

Clear and Blue light filtering CT LUCIA IOLs

The fully preloaded injection system of the ZEISS CT LUCIA is designed to enable a simple surgical workflow.

Providing the IOL already loaded into the IOL chamber of the injection system helps to avoid possible loading challenges and aims to support a smoother preparation process.

In just a few simple steps, the surgeon will be able to successfully complete implantation in an easy and time-saving way. The IOL has a heparin coating5 supporting very smooth injection using a small injector tip.6

Our findings suggest that the CT LUCIA 611P IOL is an excellent option for post-cataract patients seeking best visual quality.
