By using a slit to only illuminate a portion of the retina at a time, Broad Line technology limits the amount of unwanted scattering and reflections from the eye, thus enabling imaging a wider field than classic fundus cameras, which illuminate the whole field simultaneously. True Color images are generated through sequential illumination by broad spectrum red, green, and blue LEDs (light-emitting diodes).
