See here how to set your surgical microscope with just a few easy settings. For relaxed viewing and work at your surgical microscope.

  • OPMI pico with glasses

    Set up of S100 / OPMI pico and S100 / OPMI pico in combination with MORA interface

    For Emmetropes and eyeglass wearers who perform the treatment with their glasses

    Set the surgical microscope

    ... to the lowest magnification. Select the magnification factor 0,4 on the magnification changer
    Focus: To focus the image move the surgical microscope up and down to achieve the correct working distance in accordance with the focal length of the objective lens (eg 250 mm).

    Interpupillary distance

    Use knob of the tube head to adjust the distance of the eye-pieces to your interpupillary distance so that the two eyepiece images merge into one.

    Diopter correction

    Set diopter setting ring on the surgical microscope to 0 diopters.

    Adjust the eyecups

    Adjust the eyecups

    ... in such a way that the entire field of view can be seen. Viewing with eyeglasses: screw in the eyecups all the way (no silver ring visible).

    Viewing without eyeglasses

    Viewing without eyeglasses

    Screw out the eyecups and adjust them for your field of view (2-3 silver rings).

    Magnification and focus

    Select the maximum magnification and focus: Focus on the object by lifting and lowering the surgical microscope or using the fine focusing knob. Select the magnification required. The focal plane is retained.

    ... to the lowest magnification. Use the zoom button (Z) of the multifunctional handgrip to select the lowest magnification. Focus: Use the focus button (F) or the speedfocus to focus the image.

    Eyepieces without reticle:
    • Remove the tube with the eyepieces from the surgical microscope body and point it at a distant object.
    • Slowly turn the diopter setting ring of one eyepiece clockwise until the object is in focus.
    • Mount the tube and eyepieces on the surgical microscope body and

    Eyepieces with reticle:
    • Slowly turn the diopter setting rings on the eyepieces clockwise until the reticle is in focus.
    • Focus the surgical microscope on the object. The reticle and the object must be in focus at the same time.

    Screw out the eyecups (2-3 silver rings) and adjust them for your field of view.
