2003 – INTRABEAM

Women who have had a malignant tumor removed from their breast, typically undergo chemotherapy, followed by several weeks of radiotherapy.

INTRABEAM® allows doctors to administer high dosage radiation directly into the tumor bed, immedately after the tumor is removed during surgery.  This efficient and highly-targeted procedure enables doctors to irradiate any remaining cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

Today – the most widely-used Intraoperative Radiotherapy System

To date, more than 8,000 patients in over 200 centers worldwide have been treated for breast cancer with INTRABEAM.
