Optical biometers from ZEISS
A success story with more than 100 million IOL power calculations to date
Almost 20 years ago, ZEISS introduced the first optical biometer and revolutionized IOL power calculations. Since then IOLMaster® biometers from ZEISS have become the most commonly used biometers in the ophththalmic world with more than 100 million IOL power calculations to date. After introducing and continually improving PCI for biometry measurements, ZEISS launched its first SWEPT Source OCT-based biometer in 2014. Continuing to innovate on this platform, ZEISS just introduced Total Keratometry and is already working on the next innovations to remain the leader in optical biometry.
Optical biometry insights
TK more accurate for IOL calculation?
Sabong Srivannaboon provides insights into initial clinical data and looks at whether TK will be more accurate for IOL calculation.
Measuring the cornea: Why we need to do better
Dr. Koch answers the question about why direct measurement of the posterior corneal surface is needed to improve IOL power calculation.
