Stay on track - stay focused. Definite Focus.2 uses a projected grid image to measure the change in path length between the objective and the bottom of the culture vessel. On demand Definite Focus.2 corrects thermally caused focus drifts as well as Z-Offsets introduced when moving to new sample positions. via the Z-Control of the Axio Observer or an additional high-speed Z-Piezo.

You can start experiments without waiting for the complete microscope to reach thermal stability. Unrestricted fluorescence microscopy. The wavelength of the LED is 850 nm – way out of the excitation and emission spectra of all common fluorochromes.

Cruise your sample and let Definite Focus.2 do the job to update the focus on the fly. Once activated neither tilted nor skewed culture vessels will stop it, not even changing from well to well of the same plate.

Definite Focus permits dynamic temperature experiments. The desired temperature jumps are no problem, as Definite Focus will immediately compensate the drift.

Unimpaired flexibility. Definite Focus is compatible with all customary objectives and contrast methods. Use dishes with plastic or glass bottoms, as your application requires.

Changing conditions such as room temperature influence the microscope as well as the sample carrier and can cause focus drift. Definite Focus.2 compensates for this drift and keeps your samples in focus – even during your most challenging multiple day, multi-position time-lapse experiments.
