Papanicolaou (PAP) stain

Cytological staining helps to identify e.g. infection, inflammatory diseases, and cancer. One of the most used methods is the Papanicolaou (Pap) stain. Pap is a modified HE stain, imparting a characteristic color to nuclei and cytoplasmic components.
