ZEISS correlative techniques have been proven successful to identify the impurity in 3D printed parts and understand its cause by applying multiple workflows. ZEISS Xradia Versa was used to get an overview scan, the location of the suspicious bright spot was then transferred to the ZEISS Crossbeam, relocated with ZEISS Atlas 5 and finally analyzed with EDX. This approach allowed to identify the root of an impurity to be caused by an insufficient cleaning of the chamber from the former 3D print job which used a different powder material.
