Assisted Reproductive Technology
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) refers to treatments and procedures that aim to achieve pregnancy. ART covers a wide spectrum of treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and Intracytoplasmic morphologically-selected sperm injection (IMSI). All methods have in common that eggs (ova) are removed from a female and fertilized outside the female’s body (in vitro) with sperms. Fertilized eggs (zygotes) are then implanted into the same or another female’s uterus to establish pregnancy.
- Choose from a wide range of dedicated microscope products for your IVF laboratory.
- Learn about the benefits of different contrasting techniques such as iHMC, PlasDIC and DIC.
- Micromanipulation, heating plates and laser systems - with the right accessory you are well prepared to achieve best success rates.
Recommended Products for Reproductive Technology
ZEISS Axiolab 5
Axiolab 5 combines excellent optics and the options of phase positive and phase negative contrast. So, you can use this upright light microscope for manual semen analysis and visualize even smallest sperm cells with highest contrast. Furthermore, Axiolab 5 builds the basis for computer assisted sperm analysis systems, such as CEROS from Hamilton Thorne.
Axiolab 5 for the routine work in your lab
ZEISS Axioscope 5
Axioscope 5 offers flexibility and comfort to fit your advanced semen analysis needs. By combining brightfield, phase contrast and fluorescence you can different morphology and vitality checks with one system. The ergonomic design provides fatigue-proof working with the microscope. The dedicated fluorescence LED light source Colibri 3 is maintenance-free and keeps the overall footprint of the system compact. Axioscope 5 is your reliable semen analysis system, when it goes beyond routine brightfield and phase contrast observation.
Axioscope 5 - your smart microscope for biomedical laboratory routine and research
ZEISS Stemi 508
Stemi 508 is your compact stereomicroscope, that fits in any standard Laminar Flow Box. The large working distance offers ample space: you can conveniently handle and manipulate oocytes. The operation of the microscope is easy and intuitive. Due to the optional Thermo plates you can keep your samples at 37 °C while they are outside the incubator.
Greenough Stereo Microscope with 8:1 Zoom
ZEISS SteREO Discovery.V8
SteREO Discovery.V8 is equipped with open interfaces, that allows for integration inside your laminar flow box. Its modular design and extensive accessories offer you a variety of options to set up your workplace to your exact requirements. The impressive stereoscopic image helps you to better observe, and manipulate your oocytes. You get a high-resolution, high-contrast, and
apochromatically corrected microscopic image – that is your key for taking the right decisions. With its 8× zoom, you can quickly change from the overview down to the magnified detail, while staying perfectly in focus. SteREO Discovery.V8 combines robustness, ergonomy and brilliant optics, providing optimal reliability in your workflow.
Brilliant Entry into the Class of Sophisticated Stereomicroscopes
ZEISS Axio Vert.A1
Axio Vert.A1 is perfectly suited as basis for your standard ICSI system. This compact inverted microscope is particularly impressive in terms of its price-performance ratio. Choose your preferred micromanipulation system since the system is compatible with all common models. Even laser-assisted hatching or embryo biopsies for PGD/PGS can be performed, e.g. with Hamilton Thorne's laser system. Use all relevant contrasting techniques: with Axio Vert.A1 you have access to PlasDIC, iHMC, phase contrast and DIC - ideal for routine IVF/ICSI and even IMSI. Plus, Axio Vert.A1 fits completely inside your laminar flow box.
ZEISS Axio Observer
For successful ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), clearly visible structures such as the zona pellucida and polar body of the egg cell are essential. With IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection), you can also assess the shape and vacuole count of the sperm cells. In borderline cases, several contrast techniques have to be possible that can deliver scientifically unambiguous, high-contrast images. Axio Observer provides all relevant contrasting techniques in one single stand. HMC, PlasDIC and DIC are all possible. Additionally, you can combine phase contrast with all methods. Axio Observer is readily compatible with all major laser systems to perform laser-assisted hatching or embryo biopsies for preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). This future proof microscope leaves nothing to be desired.
