Event Highlights 2013

Once again this year Carl Zeiss Sports Optics will be present at numerous events related to nature observation and ornithology. There you will have the chance to test our products in your own time, listen to presentations and meet like-minded people. Here are a few highlights. We look forward to seeing you!

Midwest Birding Symposium

Lakeside Ohio, Sept 19-22

One of the biggest gatherings of birders in the US, with an emphasis on current research and presentations of personal field experiences rather than the traditional "field trips" of other festivals. MBS draws a virtual who's who of US birding. Hosted by the Lakeside Community of the shores of Lake Erie, a community dedicted to the arts and learning. A unique experience of American Birding. Don't miss it. Zeiss staff, including Steve Ingraham, Birding and Observation Product Specialist for North America, will be on hand daily at the ZEISS booth. There will be daily chances to try ZEISS optics in the field.

Rio Grande Birding Festival

Harlingen TX. 20th Anniversary. Nov 6-10

One of the oldest birding festivals in the US, and one of the best. Enjoy birds unique to the Rio Grande Valley, and the boarder of Mexico, on professionally guided tours. Rio Grande also features one of the largest "shows" of birding gear and tour opportunites, along with books, photography, and art, of any location. Steve Ingraham, Birding and Observation Product Specialist for North America, and ZEISS staff will be on hand at the ZEISS booth daily. Look for Steve on the tour buses as well.

Festival of the Cranes

Bosque del Apache NWR, Socorro NM. Nov 19-24

Often sited as the first true Birding Festival in the US, Bosque del Apache's Festival of the Cranes is still a totally unique experience. With 15,000 Sandhill Cranes and 30,000 wintering Snow Geese, as well as numbers of rapters and other waterfowl, gathering along the Rio Grande River under the amazing high desert skies of November, among the golden cottonwoods, with the mountains overlooking it all...it simply has to be seen to be believed. Steve Ingraham, Birding and Observation Product Specialist will at the ZEISS booth and out around the refuge daily.
