ZEISS relies on continuity when it comes to appointing members of the Executive Board

Andreas Pecher will become the new President and CEO of Carl Zeiss AG on 1 April 2025.
He will succeed Dr. Karl Lamprecht whose contract will not be extended in line with his wishes.
For this reason, the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG resolved to appoint Andreas Pecher (53) as the new CEO of Carl Zeiss AG with effect from 1 April 2025. Andreas Pecher has been working at ZEISS since 2013 and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2022.
With the appointment of Andreas Pecher, it was once again possible to fill the position of President & CEO from among the company‘s own ranks. We look forward to continuing the successful development of the Group with him. In addition to his extensive experience in the high-tech sector and his extraordinarily successful work at ZEISS, Andreas Pecher brings an outstanding understanding of technology and a wide range of management skills from a variety of leadership roles. This includes in particular the development and implementation of successful innovation and growth strategies,” says Dr. Michael Bolle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG.
Andreas Pecher joined ZEISS in 2013 as Head of Strategic Business Development for semiconductor technology where he successfully assumed different management responsibilities such as heading up the strategic Semiconductor Mask Solutions and Semiconductor Manufacturing Optics business units. He has headed up the ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) segment since 2022.
Dr. Karl Lamprecht notified the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG at an early stage of his intention not to extend his contract, which expires in spring 2025. “We very much regret Karl Lamprecht‘s decision, but at the same time we respect his wish to devote more time to his private life in the future.
When he took over as CEO, it coincided with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which ZEISS navigated very well under his leadership. Karl Lamprecht has given the ZEISS Group decisive impetus thanks to a clear strategic orientation and the consistent further development of its corporate culture. This is reflected in the impressive, profitable revenue development and employee growth seen in recent years,” said Michael Bolle. “We wish Karl Lamprecht all the best and would like to thank him for his outstanding achievements over just under 20 years. He is handing over a very well aligned and financially stable company with exceptionally good development prospects.”
New Head of SMT

Carl Zeiss AG welcomes Dr. Frank Rohmund to the Executive Board.
Dr. Frank Rohmund (56) has been appointed as a new member of the Executive Board and Head of the ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology segment (SMT) effective 1 January 2025. “Dr. Frank Rohmund also has excellent knowledge of the industry and strong innovation skills,” says Michael Bolle. “Thanks to his many years of experience in the semiconductor industry and as a member of the SMT management team, he is the right choice to successfully head up SMT in the long term.”
Furthermore, the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG has extended the contracts of Susan-Stefanie Breitkopf (55) and Sven Hermann (49) by five years each until 2030. They were both appointed as members of the Executive Board in 2022 - Susan-Stefanie Breitkopf as Chief Transformation Officer of the ZEISS Group and Sven Hermann for the ZEISS Consumer Markets segment.
