Two male individuals are working with the ZEISS O-INSPECT duo in a manufacturing environment.

This is the largest microscope in the world. No other series device makes it possible to examine objects up to a size of 800x600x300mm as precisely as the way in which the ZEISS O-INSPECT duo can. The system is latest solution provided by ZEISS for quality assurance. It combines metrology and microscopy into a single device: objects can be assessed through touching, by high-precision measurement through touch and inspected down to their smallest structures through using a microscope. It brings together two highly valued areas of expertise from two business units: three-dimensional measurement technology from the IQS (Industrial Quality Solutions) segment and microscopy from the RMS (Research Microscopy Solutions) segment.

“In this sector, the worlds of measurement technology and the inspection of objects, which were previously separate, are merging. At ZEISS, we can support and advance this development with the O-INSPECT duo,” says Christoph Stark, Product Manager O-INSPECT. The greatest benefit is that both key quality assurance checks of precise measurement and accurate inspection can be automated and analyzed using software. The tiniest variations are thus detected quickly and reliably. This dual function has been very well received in initial pilot installations.

The O-INSPECT duo can also test and measure relatively large objects (or alternatively several small ones) because it offers a working area of 800x600x300mm.

ZEISS O-INSPECT duo

Microscope and measuring machine in one.

ZEISS O-INSPECT duo offers two technologies in one machine: large workpieces such as PCBs, fuel cells or batteries can be both measured and inspected in high resolution in their entirety. The combination of 3D measurement technology and microscopic inspection increases efficiency and saves space in quality laboratories. ZEISS O-INSPECT duo is available in the size 8/6/3.
