A Jubilee in an Anniversary Year

The Torun Planetarium in Poland will soon reopen after the installation of its new star projector. In the center of the 15-m dome, a ZEISS SKYMASTER ZKP 4 LED will then provide the true-to-nature representation of the night sky. This is the 50th projector in the ZKP 4 series, a special milestone for us. SKYMASTER ZKP 4 can now be found in 20 countries. It is thus one of the most successful star projectors from ZEISS.

The first installation took place in Istanbul in 2005 and Radebeul, in Germany, received the first unit with LED illumination in 2011. Thanks to fiber optics and LED light sources, the ZKP 4 projector can now be used for domes up to 15 m in diameter. By comparison, 10 m was originally considered the maximum size for ZEISS' small planetariums.

SKYMASTER ZKP 4 LED is equipped with digitally controlled projectors for the Sun, Moon and planets. Didactic projections, azimuth rotation and a lift are among the optional features.
