ZEISS SPACEGATE Gemini

Fulldome systems with selectable brightness and resolution for small and medium dome sizes

With SPACEGATE Gemini, ZEISS offers a new two-channel digital projection system for domes from 6 m to 14 m in diameter. It is equipped with two Barco F80 projectors. SPACEGATE Gemini is based on affordable professional components that meet the investment possibilities of small planetariums.

Replacement solution for SPACEGATE Duo and SPACEGATE Quinto

Integrate SPACEGATE Gemini into your existing planetarium. The projection system is perfectly suited to renew a SPACEGATE Duo or SPACEGATE Quinto installation if required. For the installation, it almost does not matter which planetarium projector is located in the center of the dome.

F80 Projector Series

Barco's F80 projector series proves to be advantageous in terms of balanced image parameters and adequate price-performance ratio. The availability of several resolution and brightness variants also allows individual adjustments to dome size, reflectance and quality requirements. The projectors impress with their luminosity and strong colors. Both projectors of the system can be well matched in brightness and color reproduction. This is a prerequisite for a homogeneous fulldome image.

Special blend solution and auto-calibration

Projectors without maximum contrast in multi-channel fulldome systems require special masks to be able to blend the image channels as invisibly as possible. For the two-channel projection with SPACEGATE Gemini, we have developed a special masking technique for invisible overlapping. Planetarium visitors will experience a homogeneous fulldome image.

Camera-based auto-calibration makes it easy to keep the image quality consistent even when slight mechanical deviations or changes in projection parameters affect the dome projection.

Additional Information

Designed for smaller dome sizes

Image quality
