SKYMASTER ZKP 4 supports training in astronomical navigation. The ZEISS planetarium displays all the celestial coordinates and the nautical triangle that are essential for training and automatically tracks the movements. The first unit of the ZKP 4 series was installed in a 6-meter dome at the Turkish Navy in Istanbul in 2005 and has since been used for training in navigation by means of the stars. Even today, cadets must learn astronomical navigation at sea as an alternative to satellite navigation.
