ZEISS PLANETARIUM ZU JENA

Historical picture postcard

Historical Postcard of the Jena Planetarium © Archive Jenaer Philatelisten e.V.

The first planetariums aroused special attention among the population. They were a novelty for practically everyone. For numerous schoolchildren and adults alike, they offered the opportunity to become vividly acquainted with the phenomena of the night sky. The planetarium buildings with their dome architecture also attracted attention. The planetariums themselves and publishers designed and sold postcards with motifs of the novel facilities, such as here of the Jena Zeiss Planetarium.
