ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P

Treating a wide range of cataract patients with a unique ZEISS Optic.

CT LUCIA® 621P IOLs, with ZEISS Optic features, are designed to reduce spherical aberration and at the same time optimize visual outcomes in the event of potential decentration and lens misalignments.

The IOL features a reinforced optic-haptic junction, coupled with step-vaulted C-loop haptics, designed to enable easy centering while maximizing direct capsular contact, thus optimizing stability and supporting a consistent position in the bag. The ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P is supplied in a fully preloaded delivery system.

  • Optimized visual outcomes¹
  • Excellent stability
  • Intuitive injector handling

ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P

New generation of aspheric monofocal C-loop IOL

  • Patented ZEISS Optic (ZO) Asphericity Concept
  • Hydrophobic acrylic with heparin-coated2 surface
  • Long-term optical clarity due to the glistening-free3  material
  • Wide Diopter range available in powers ranging from 0.0 to +34.0 in 0.5 diopter steps
  • Fully preloaded delivery system

Optimized visual outcomes1

The patented ZEISS Optic (ZO) Asphericity Concept of the ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P was developed to compensate for a wide range of spherical aberrations. It is uniquely designed to be less susceptible to decentration enabling optimized visual outcomes.1.

Optimized visual outcomes1

Designed to be less susceptible to decentration1

Every eye is as individual as the patient and typically, the human eye is not optically symmetrical, which can lead to IOL decentration. Generally, IOL decentration occurs due to poor capsular or zonular support, decentered capsulorhexis, asymmetric shrinkage of the capsular bag, misplacement of the haptics of the IOL, or luxation in eyes with pseudoexfoliation.

CT LUCIA® 621P IOLs, with ZEISS Optic features, are designed to reduce spherical aberration and at the same time optimize visual outcomes in the event of potential decentration and lens misalignments. With its unique design, CT LUCIA 621P is designed to deliver optimized visual outcomes for a wide range of cataract patients.1

The data is taken from a simulation. The transferability of the results of such a simulation to patients with an actual implanted intraocular lens has not yet been scientifically proven. Whether the simulated impressions correspond to the actual visual impressions must be clarified in future invasive studies.

Excellent stability

ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P IOLs feature a reinforced optic-haptic junction, coupled with step-vaulted C-loop haptics, designed to enable easy centering while maximizing direct capsular contact, thus optimizing stability and supporting a consistent position in the bag.

Excellent stability

Fig. 1: The behavior of the axial IOL position stability of the ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P over a duration of 1 week and 1 month.

The anterior chamber stability of the ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P assessed over a period of 1 week and 1 month

The assessment was done by biometry measurement using the ZEISS IOLMaster 700. Anterior chamber depth (ACD) was measured to reflect the position stability of the implanted IOL at the two post-operative visits (1 week (W1) and 1 month (M1)).1

Conclusion:  The IOL demonstrated positional stability over the duration of time with no significant shift in its position in the capsular bag.

Internal report on ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P data collection (Dr Cuttita) - Version 1.1 dated 19.11.2019.

Intuitive injector handling

The ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P is supplied in a fully preloaded delivery system. Based on survey results, the CT LUCIA 621P scored very highly in the preparatory phase and helped to reduce surgery time as it was intuitive and easy to use.4 In addition, the IOL has a heparin-coated2 surface to allow for a smoother injection and unfolding process.

Intuitive injector handling

Easy to prepare

Apply ophthalmic viscoelastic. Close the IOL chamber wings.

Step 1

Step 2

Intuitive and easy to use

Intermediate position

Gently push the plunger forward. An audible click indicates that the intermediate position has been reached. The IOL is ready for implantation.

Smooth and controlled injection

The preloaded ZEISS CT LUCIA 621P has a heparin-coated1 surface to allow for a smoother injection and unfolding process. Based on survey results, surgeons reported that in 98% of cases, the IOL always left the injector tip in a reproducible fashion.2

Excellent performance

Based on survey results, 99% of respondents reported that they "agree" or "fully agree" with ease of use with CT LUCIA 621P and preferred it over their current device of choice.2
