ZEISS BlueGuard Lenses
Easy on the eyes.

More blue light exposure- independent of age.
Our lives are becoming more and more digital. We work, play, learn, and shop online, wherever we are. With this lifestyle change, we rely on our eyes more than ever before. This means that, besides the potentially harmful blue light exposure from the sun, we’re also more vulnerable to artificial blue light.

What is blue light and how do blue light blocking glasses work?
A portion of light emitted by the sun falls in the blue spectrum, but almost all modern digital devices and LED lights also emit blue light.Unlike UV radiation, blue light penetrates the eyes, and excessive exposure can cause perceived eyestrain and blurred vision. Blue light also influences the body’s circadian rhythms and your ability to produce melatonin, so blue light can have an effect on sleep.
Blue light blocking glasses can block that part of blue light spectrum that can potentially be harmful and irritating.
What is digital eyestrain?
Headaches, blurred vision, dry or burning eyes are all common symptoms of digital eye strain (DES) which can be caused by the prolonged use of digital devices. Tablets, smartphones, and computers emit a disproportionate amount of blue light which can lead to intraocular effects such as scatter and longitudinal chromatic aberration.
ZEISS BlueGuard Lenses: The next generation of blue light blocking glasses
With previous products, blue light blocking is achieved via coatings applied to blue light filter glasses. ZEISS BlueGuard Lenses incorporate blue light blocking properties into the lens material itself. This allows us to apply ZEISS DuraVision Platinum – our most premium lens coating – as a standard to ZEISS BlueGuard Lenses.
