ZEISS is the inventor of the anti-reflection coating and received a patent for a coating process that minimizes reflection on glass surfaces in 1935. It was subsequently used by Carl Zeiss for the first time in its eyeglass lens manufacturing processes. Carl Zeiss was also the first company to manufacture individual, customised varifocal lenses.

The one element that connects all of these episodes of the company’s long history is amazing precision: it is the accuracy of the reflected image; the fact that everything is broken down to the most minute detail. Professionals count on the dependability of these products, as do millions of people who wear glasses and opt for Carl Zeiss lenses.
